Find the perfect parking spot at London Gatwick Airport
Whether you’re dropping-off friends and family or embarking on the holiday of a lifetime, London Gatwick has plenty of different parking options to suit anyone visiting the airport. Whether you're looking for parking at Gatwick's North terminal or South terminal, here are a few helpful tips that you should consider if you’re planning a trip to Gatwick Airport that will help you find the right space for your vehicle.
It’s super-easy to take your passengers up to the doors of the terminal with drop-off sections on the lower levels of both the North and South terminals. However, if you’d like a little more time with your friends and family before they leave there are a few more options you could consider. Both terminals boast short-stay car parks, around a 5 minute walk away from the terminal entrance, as well as long-stay car parks, which are completely free for the first 2 hours and operate several shuttle bus services which take passengers to and from the terminal.
There are large short-stay parking areas within 5 minutes of the doors of each of Gatwick’s terminals. Both parking areas are covered, multi-storey buildings with security and CCTV operating around the clock. These spaces are perfect for drop-offs and pick-ups as there’s no minimum stay:
As the airport is so big, each carpark is in its own post code:
South Terminal short-stay parking (car park 3 (orange)): RH6 0LL
North Terminal short-stay parking (car park 5): RH6 0PJ
Long-stay parking is the ideal option for those looking to leave their car at the airport while keeping costs to a minimum. Buses run directly between the parking areas and the terminals every 10-15 minutes throughout the day and night. The shuttles run to either terminal no matter which dedicated parking area you’re in, so you aren’t restricted by your airline.
Each carpark has its own post code, making it super-easy to find:
South Terminal long-stay parking: RH6 0LL
North Terminal long-stay parking: RH6 0RN
If you want to enjoy a little VIP treatment, you can avoid the carparks and use the airport’s professional valet service within a 4 minute walk of the terminal. This makes leaving the airport a breeze too, as the Valets will also ensure that your car is waiting for you as you exit.
London Gatwick also offers a premium parking service by either terminal, for those who want the best parking experience. These sections are regularly patrolled by airport security and are extremely close to the terminal entrance.

The Airport can only ensure you get a space if you book at least 24 hours before you arrive, so even though you can drive up and park for short stays if spaces are available it’s recommended you pre-book.
Although London Gatwick Airport doesn’t offer discounts to Blue Badge holders on stays of any length, Blue Badge holders will find a dedicated section in every on-site carpark. There’s no need to leave your Blue Badge in the car while you’re away, simply show it to the attendant before exiting the carpark.
Pickup and drop-off at the long stay carparks: You can collect or leave your passengers free of charge and they can catch a shuttle straight to the terminal doors.
It doesn’t matter which terminal you park at: You can often save money by parking at the opposite terminal to the one you require as shuttle buses run between either terminal.
Gatwick is especially busy in the mornings: If you’d rather avoid traffic then it’s worth remembering that peak time is between 6am-12pm and avoiding journeys around this time.
