How does Short Stay parking work?
Say goodbye to stressful planning and parking with these 4 simple steps:
Book in advance: Short Stay 1 and Short Stay 3 are available for Turn Up & Park. Short Stay 2 is available to pre-book only.
Park up: Our Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system will recognise your vehicle and open the barrier (if your car park has barrierless entry, just drive straight through). Find a space, park up, and lock your vehicle.
Walk to the terminal: No need for a shuttle bus. All the Short Stay car parks are in easy walking distance to the terminal, for a quick route to check-in.
When you return: Find your vehicle right where you left it. The ANPR system will recognise your number plate and open the barrier again when you leave, so you can just drive away.
Where is Short Stay parking located?
There are three Short Stay car parks at East Midlands airport, all located right next to the terminal. In less than 5 minutes you’ll be at check-in.

Exit the M1 or A42 onto the A453.
Follow the road until you reach the main entrance to the airport.
Turn right into the airport.
At the roundabout, take your second exit going straight on towards the airport and Short Stay 1.
The entrance to Short Stay 1 will be on your immediate left.
Short Stay 2
Short Stay 2 postcode: DE74 2SA
Exit the M1 or A42 onto the A453.
Follow the road until you reach the main entrance to the airport.
Turn right into the airport.
At the roundabout, take your first exit.
At the second roundabout go straight on and take the first right turning into the Short Stay 2 car park.
Short Stay 3
Short Stay 3 postcode: DE74 2SA
Exit the M1 or A42 onto the A453.
Follow the road until you reach the main entrance to the airport.
Turn right into the airport.
At the roundabout, take the first exit.
Carry on following the road and at the third roundabout take the first exit (left) and turn left again into the Short Stay 3 car park.
