Information about checking-in at the airport
Before you arrive at East Midlands Airport, make sure you have a valid passport (and visa where necessary) for your trip. Many authorities require a passport that’s valid for at least six months from the time you fly. If you need help and advice, visit the UK passport website. On domestic flights, airlines now need to see appropriate photo identification. Please check with your airline about which forms of photo identification are acceptable. Airlines open and operate check-in times differently, please familiarise yourself with the below:
Jet2 / TUI / Thomas Cook: 3 hours before departure
All other airlines: 2 hours before departure
On arrival at the airport, please check the information screens to find out which check-in desks you need. After you’ve checked in, it is advisable to go to security control straight away, leaving you plenty of time to relax and explore the many shops and restaurants in the departures lounge.
Online check-in offers you the ability to check yourself in and print your boarding passes in the comfort of your own home or at the office (a printer is required). Once you get to the airport if you have baggage you can take it to the bag drop, or if you only have hand baggage you can proceed directly to security control.
