Have a smooth journey through Security

Your guide to going through Security

We know that getting through Security can be a worry for some people, but we’re here to make it easy.

Our designated lane for passengers requiring assistance and families with pushchairs, means that you can get any help you may need.

What can I take through Security?

What can I take through Security in my hand luggage (the bag you carry onto the plane)? One of our most asked questions! Visit our main Security page for information on liquid allowances, prescription medication, electrical items, and more.

The search process

Once you’re at the front of the queue, it’s time to go through the search process.

If you're travelling in a wheelchair but are able to stand, our friendly security officers may ask you to stand to go through the body scanner. However, if you're not able to, you’ll be able to stay in your wheelchair. In this case, you’ll need to have a hand search by one of our Security officers once you're through the scanner. If you don’t feel comfortable with having the search in public, we have a private search area instead.

For those travelling with an assistance dog, learn about the search process.

If you have any other requirement, our Security staff will do their best to accommodate your needs. Please discuss this with a member of staff when you approach the body scanners.
