East Midlands Airport to Birmingham

Only 40 miles southwest of East Midlands Airport, Birmingham has many travel links. Whether you’re driving, taking a coach or hopping on a train, getting to and from East Midlands Airport is easy.

By car

The journey by car between the airport and Birmingham only takes around 40 minutes. There’s also the option to hire a car from the airport if you don’t have your own. We’ve got several great car parks for you to leave your vehicle whilst you’re away, all Park Mark accredited.

While there isn’t a train station built into the airport, you’ll be able to take a train between Birmingham New Street Station and Long Eaton, where you can catch the regular Skylink bus straight to the airport. The journey takes around 1 hour 45 minutes, and trains run several times a day.

Regular buses run between the airport and city centre and take as little as an hour. It’s also a cheaper way to travel compared to driving or getting the train.
